It had been an easy decision to make, in hindsight. Tony was getting old enough now that he couldn’t really wear the suit much without getting worn out, and he thanks the Gods (the not-Thor ones) everyday that Steve has stuck with his sorry ass.
So when Steve comes home with a stray named Peter, who needs help getting back to his feet, suddenly Tony has someone who needs gadgets and wants to spend time with him thats not Steve or Pepper.
And so that’s how somehow, a year later, Peter is now officially theirs, and Tony thinks that he’s never been happier; except for maybe the day he and Steve said I do.CUTEST. FAMILY. HEADCANON. EVER.
